Fort Independence Cornerstone is open year-round, offering vibrant and inclusive programming for all members of the community. History & Legacy: Founded in 1971 as a partnership between community activists and Montefiore Medical Center, MMCC began by addressing the needs of families in the Mosholu Parkway area. The organization has grown to operate multiple community centers and programs throughout the Northwest Bronx.
