Brooklyn LAB Charter School

Free afterschool program at Brooklyn LAB Charter through InnovateEDU offering project-based learning in arts, STEM, literacy, and athletics for grades 6-8, Monday-Friday 3:30-5:30pm.

InnovateEDU creates project-based learning experiences by extending the regular school day and providing programming for middle school students in Downtown Brooklyn from 3:30-5:30pm daily. Through small group and team enrichments, students explore new topics and learning spaces in the arts, STEM, literacy, and athletics, working alongside professional makers and thinkers to foster young leaders.

InnovateEDU Inc. is dedicated to creating innovative project-based learning experiences for NYC middle school students. By partnering with NYC Department of Youth and Community Development through the SONYC initiative, InnovateEDU extends the school day with enriching programming. Their approach connects students with professional makers and thinkers, providing hands-on experiences in arts, STEM, literacy, and athletics that prepare young people for success.

  1. Verify Enrollment This program serves students enrolled at Brooklyn Laboratory Charter School in grades 6-8.

  3. Complete Application Fill out the SONYC afterschool registration form for the 2025-2026 school year.

  4. Submit Documents Provide required documentation including proof of enrollment, emergency contacts, and medical information.

  5. Start Exploring Begin project-based learning Monday-Friday 3:30-5:30pm with professional mentors!
