The Summer Rising program helps young people develop strong, positive relationships with adults. Building on the young person’s strengths rather than focusing on weaknesses, the program provides an environment that helps young people develop positive relationships with peers and gives youth challenges they can rise to by providing enriching, creative activities. Youth receive opportunities to develop leadership and decision-making skills, with focus on the developmental needs of middle school students.

Summer Rising is NYC’s comprehensive summer program combining academic instruction with enrichment activities. At Eagle Academy for Young Men III, the SONYC component focuses on youth development through positive relationships, leadership, and creative programming. Eagle Academy schools specifically serve young men of color with college-preparatory education and character development.
